The Kill Team Night reminder
A bot that remembers so you don't.
It posts one reminder to Discord before each game night at Lotus Games. That's the whole job. It can't read messages, DM anyone, or track members.
What it does
Every other Sunday around 6 PM, it posts a short message reminding everyone that Kill Team Night is that coming Wednesday at Lotus Games. The date in the post is figured out automatically, so it's always the right Wednesday.
It runs on a two-week cycle to match the game nights. On the off Sundays it stays quiet. (It is a very low-effort bot, and proud of it.)
What the post looks like
🪷 Kill Team Night is ON this Wednesday, July 1! New players and seasoned vets alike, tables are open and we want you there. 👍 this post so we can get a headcount.
Same shape every time, just with the next date filled in.
It posts to two Discords
- The Lotus Games store Discord, so regulars see it.
- A separate group Discord, so our crew sees it too.
- Each gets its own wording, both at the same time.
What it does NOT do
- It can't read your messages. A webhook only posts, it never listens.
- It can't DM anyone or @ everyone unless you ask it to.
- It doesn't collect data, track members, or join voice. None of that.
- It only touches the one channel you point it at. That's it.
How to add it to your channel
- Pick the channel you want the reminder in.
- Channel settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook.
- Name it something obvious like "Kill Team Reminder."
- Copy the webhook URL and send it to me.
That URL is the only thing I need, and you can revoke it any time by deleting the webhook. The moment you do, the bot goes silent in your channel. You're always in control.
